Add it to your home screen
Stub is a web app you can add to your phone's home screen — Add to Home Screen in Safari, Install app in Chrome — and from there it opens full-screen, with its own icon, no browser chrome around it.
You don't need to install it for anything below. A tab you never added to your home screen gets the same offline behavior, because it's the browser's own cache doing the work, not the install.
A trip you've opened stays there, exactly as you left it
Trips you've already opened stay there offline, exactly as you last saw them, until you sign out of this device. Nothing updates while you're offline — no new document, no changed time, no write goes through — because nothing asks the server to; it picks back up the moment you're reconnected.
A trip you've never opened on this device isn't there to find. The only things Stub loads in ahead of time are its own front door and the small file that lets your phone install it as an app — every trip, like everything else, is cached the first time you open it, and not before.
One dot says whether you're connected
A small dot next to Settings says which of those two states you're in. It's quiet — grey, no caption — while Stub is reaching the server. Once two checks in a row fail, the dot itself turns red, with a small grey Offline mark beside it — and the last time Stub did reach the server, if it reached it at all this session.
One dropped request doesn't flip it — a phone changing towers or a laptop waking from sleep isn't news — so when the dot does speak up, it means it.
